During the week-end of May 12-14 in the prestigious building of the Automobile Museum “Biscaretti di Ruffia” of Turin in Italy has been occurred the XVII Edition of the International Context Show organized by the local association C.M.T. in collaboration with the Comics Turin Association (ATIF) and the Piedmont Region. The context edition, differently from the past years, has been organized after seven months from the last one, and this, as explained during the award ceremony by the C.M.T. President Mr. Piero Parlani was due to the imminent renewal of the Museum building, that will see a new and modern structure. For the second time of the show the context had a three days opening, with windows dressing for figures and civil vehicles and broad tables for the other categories. The participation to the show was really good (160 modellers and 43 Associations), also considering the contemporary occurrence of two other important modellism shows in the same week-end. In fact has been the presence of modellers and Association from all the Italian Region other than different French modellers and association. All the models had its own label with the model and modellist data and, at the end, has been counted about 600 models with 522 registered into the context. The quality of the models was really outstanding, especially in the Military vehicles, Figures, Airplanes and Fantasy sections; due to this fact the judges, composed entirely by CMT members, had an hard work to select the best for the awards. The prices assigned were as usual gold, silver and bronze other than different special prices supplied by sector operators as Italian Kits, Brach Model, Model Time, Amati, Italian Grenadier Association. The Best of Show, as for the past year, has been assigned into the “Fantasy Category” to Luca Paire with his scratch-built figures entitled “'Les rats de no-dan-kar”. |

Among the expositors we would like to remember the impressive models of Francesco Lovo, a wide display with various spaceships and fantasy pieces in many case scratch-built. Francesco, for who don’t know, had won the previous edition Best of Show. Another success was the commercial section, that had seen the presence of 12 commercial operators with, among the others, Micromondi, AP Model, Mr. Panzer, Italian Kits, Ivo Fossati, CAMA Models. |

The awarding ceremony has been occurred in the fantastic Auditorium of the Museum, with the projection of all the awarded models; during the ceremony different guest had delivered the prices, like the XVIII century vessel captain of British Royal Navy (Mr. Demetrio Canale), the “Garrison Reenactors” with his Star War Imperial Guard, and two officers of the Italian Military Air Force. |
